A North Carolina career

A native of Fayetteville, Dr. Richardson grew up in Raleigh. He went to Chapel Hill for college and stayed through dental school and his orthodontic residency.

At Richardson Orthodontics, his philosophy was simple. He wanted patients to receive the highest quality of orthodontic care in a friendly, fun environment.

Education at UNC-Chapel Hill

Dr. Richardson earned both his undergraduate and dental degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then completed a three-year orthodontic residency at UNC, earning his master’s degree in orthodontics in 1991.

Professional leadership

He served as president of the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society, the North Carolina Association of Orthodontists, and the UNC Alumni Association. He was also a certified Invisalign® Preferred Provider.

Family time and days on the water

In retirement, Dr. Richardson looks forward to more time with his wife, Ann, and their three daughters.

Some of his favorite ways to spend an afternoon are surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, tending the yard, and doing a little fishing.

We are deeply grateful for Dr. Richardson’s dedication, leadership, and the warm, welcoming culture he helped build over so many years.
