The person behind the smile

His own smile started the story.

His own orthodontic treatment sparked Dr. Gierie’s interest in the profession. Experiencing the difference a straighter smile made in his life inspired a career he continues to love.

    Dr. Gierie completed his dental and orthodontic specialty training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As an associate adjunct professor in its Department of Orthodontics, he helps educate orthodontists in training.

  • Sharing knowledge worldwide

    Through the Invisalign® Speakers Bureau, he lectures internationally, teaching orthodontists how to use the system and sharing his innovations.

  • Contributing to the profession

    He previously served on Align Technology’s North American Ortho Advisory Board and the seven-member Invisalign Global Scientific Advisory Board, contributing feedback on product direction and development.
