Meet Dr. Joe Jamison
Dr. Jamison dedicated over 44 years to creating phenomenal smiles in Wilmington. When Jamison Orthodontics became part of Port City Ortho, he continued seeing patients at his office until his retirement in May 2025.
From Waco to Wilmington
Born in Waco, Texas, Dr. Jamison graduated from high school in Charlotte, North Carolina. His studies took him to Chapel Hill and then Iowa before he made his career in Wilmington.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Jamison became a board-certified orthodontist and a published author.
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Dr. Jamison earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Relations and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UNC-Chapel Hill.
University of Iowa
He earned his Master of Science degree in Orthodontics at the University of Iowa.

Family, tennis, and time at the beach
Dr. Jamison is married to the former Barbara Bear of Wilmington. Together they have two grown children and four grandchildren.
In retirement, he enjoys time with his family, playing tennis, working out, visiting the beach, and attending First Presbyterian Church.
We are grateful for Dr. Jamison’s extraordinary legacy and the countless patients whose lives he touched over his remarkable career.
